How Will Shutters Affect How Bright A Room Feels?
Window shutters are thick slats, however, this does not affect how bright your room so much as the colour of the shutters. With the louvres open, your room will be as bright as with open curtains or Venetian blinds.
If you opt for neutral colours or white shutters, it can help brighten and add space to a room.
What Types Of Shutters Are There?
In terms of window shutters, there are several different types that differ in how much light they block out and how much of the window they take up.
The main two types are plantation shutters and solid shutters. Solid shutters look like bi-fold doors and are effective at completely blocking light, whilst plantation shutters have twisting slats that can be opened and closed.
As well as this there are full-height shutters, half-sized (or cafe-style) and tier-on-tier shutters, which can be opened at two separate heights.
